Description

Description B-2A

This Interim Contractor Support (ICS) in P-1 line provides maintenance and repair capability for depot-level repairs for the Common VLF/LV Receiver (CVR) Increment 1, to meet Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) operational requirements for the B-2 weapon system. The ICS program is an on-condition and limited overhaul repair capability repairing Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and Shop Replaceable Units (SRUs) associated with CVR Increment 1. ICS also provides travel support and interim repair to new or modified components stemming from the B-2 CVR Increment 1 program until a permanent source of repair has been achieved either organically or through Contractor Depot Maintenance (CDM). ICS will continue to provide interim maintenance and repair capability to B-2 CVR Increment 1 LRUs/SRUs until either an organic repair capability or contractor repair capability is established.

Description B-2A

The B-2 is a multi-engine, long range bomber incorporating low-observable ('stealth') technology that enables the B-2 to penetrate enemy air defenses and strike high-value targets. Specific modifications, budgeted and programmed, are below. Funding for the exhibit is primarily in PE 0101127F (B-2 Squadrons). Some trainer efforts are funded in PE 0809731F (Training Support to Units), and other efforts are funded under PE 0207446F (Bomber Tactical Data Link). Funds may be used to resolve emerging safety of flight and diminishing manufacturing sources issues, accommodate technology insertion and fulfill FAA or other mandates necessary to ensure continued aircrew safety and mission effectiveness.
