Description

Description — LCS Module Weapons

Longbow Hellfire missiles provide Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) firepower to counter enemy high speed, agile surface craft executing swarm tactics. LCS equipped with the Surface Warfare Mission Package (SUW MP) will employ these missiles while escorting High Value Units (HVUs) through choke points and other strategic waterways or while conducting littoral operations. Other Related Budgets: BLIs: OPN 1603 LCS SUW Mission Modules, RDT&E 0603596N LCS Mission Modules FY 2025 matches the Base for Reprogramming Actions, DD 1414 and does not include supplemental funding from Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024 (Division B of Public Law 118-50). In FY 2025, DON has received $3.975 million for the procurement of Longbow Hellfire missiles for the replacement of Navy stock [P5 / Longbow Hellfire Missile]: The Longbow Hellfire missile is a fire and forget, millimeter-wave seeker missile for autonomous engagement. The Navy procures replacement in kind missiles from the Army inventory, completes shipboard modifications and certifications to deliver to the Fleet. [P5 / Ordnance Handling Equipment]: Ordnance Handling equipment procurements reflect a variety of tools, machinery, and devices used for handling, transportation, storage, and loading/unloading the missiles. Year-to-year, the specific equipment requirements change based on fleet needs and equipment deterioration/attrition. This equipment includes Lifting Caps, Lifting Straps, Missile Exhaust Containment Structure (MECS), MECS shipping brackets, MECS shipping frames, MEP test suite, MK210 stray voltage test sets, maintenance stands, tilt Fixtures, and MASS simulators. The increase in FY26 supports the additional handling equipment requirements. Evaluating ordnance equipment requirements across the FYDP. [P5 / Consulting Services]: Provides program management support, engineering and technical support, studies, analysis and evaluation on mission module systems.

Justification

Justification — LCS Module Weapons

The FY 2026 request was reduced by $0.059 million for Advisory and Assistance Services to promote efficiencies and advance the policies of the Administration in alignment with Executive Order 14222, "Implementing the President's Department of Government Efficiency Cost Efficiency Initiative." FY26 continues the procurement of Longbow Hell Fire missiles in support of the Surface Warfare Mission Package (SUW MP) to meet the Navy's inventory objective.
