4 fiscal years of this program as published (FY2022–FY2025): a line through the actuals (filled dots), with the enacted (hollow circles) and request (diamonds) markers each edition reported. Read it for direction, not for precision — this program's actuals line rises across the span, and 1 year is a break in the line rather than a low value: an edition the program is absent from, never interpolated. The grid below is the same data as text, one cited figure per cell.

The vertical scale does not start at zero: the baseline sits just below this program’s smallest year, so a low point on this line is not a small amount. Read the shape for direction and the grid below for the figures.

Description

Description Ground Based Midcourse

The decrease from Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 to FY 2026 is due to the delay in procurement in accordance with the MDA Increment 10 revised requirements. The Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS), as the Midcourse Defense Segment of the Missile Defense System, provides the combatant commands, including United States Northern Command, with a continuously available (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year) capability for long-range missile defense of the homeland. The GWS leverages integration of Missile Defense sensors from across the globe and consists of a fleet of interceptors, the Ground Based Interceptors today and the Next Generation Interceptors in the future, and the enabling Ground Systems. As a critical component of GWS, the In Flight Interceptor Communications System Data Terminal (IDT) provides the communication link between the GMD Fire Control (GFC) and In-Flight Interceptors. The Phased Array (PA)-IDT retrofit kits, spares, and antenna material are needed to meet emerging threats and support the capabilities of Next Generation Interceptor. A new IDT will be fielded in 2028 and will help protect the United States, its partners, and allies from existing and emerging threats in the Indo-Pacific Region. No procurement funding is requested in FY 2026. FY 2025 provides for the purchase of materials for two (2) Lots of PA-IDT Retrofits and one (1) lot that comprises three (3) sets of Phased Array IDT Operational Spares.
