Description

Description T-6

The T-6 replaced the USAF T-37B and USN T-34C training aircraft and their associated ground-based training systems. The T-6 aircraft provides significant improvements over the aircraft it replaced, including a 0/0 ejection seat which accommodates a larger anthropometric pilot population, a pressurized cockpit, gravitational-force (g-force) strain reduction capabilities, and increased birdstrike protection. There are currently 442 USAF T-6A aircraft [441 AETC A/C; one (1) USAF Owned, OEM Test A/C] in the inventory. Remaining service life is through Dec 2049. Funding may be used to address Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) issues and modification recovery efforts. Funding contained in this platform's documentation directly aids Air Education Training Command (AETC) flying training enterprise to continue its overall pilot production increase thus reducing the USAF Pilot Shortage. Funding for this exhibit contained in PE 0804740F. This modification supports performance of a full financial audit as required by title 10 U.S.C. Chapter 9A, Sec 240-D The FY 2026 request was reduced by $ 0.015 million for Advisory and Assistance Services to promote efficiencies and advance the policies of the Administration in alignment with Executive Order 14222, "Implementing the President's Department of Government Efficiency Cost Efficiency Initiative.
