Description — Army Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2)
SSN B29815 / PREDICTIVE LOGISTICS is a new start within the Army Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2) program in FY 2026 Effective with the 11 Feb 2025 Acquisition Decision Memorandum (ADM), Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2) was renamed to Command Post Modernization (CPMod). CPI2 (hereafter referred to as CPMod) (B29801) is aligned to and supports the Army Next Generation Command Control (NGC2) initiative to modernize Command and Control (C2) systems, Infrastructure layer. This funding is to accelerate divestment of legacy equipment. The Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) is a top modernization priority for the U.S. Army, aimed at transforming how we communicate, coordinate, and operate across the battlefield. Command Post Modernization (CP Mod) plays a foundational role in this transformation by delivering the infrastructure that connects tactical communications, data systems, and applications into a cohesive ecosystem. CP Mod enables rapid integration of emerging technologies and modular upgrades-ensuring the Army can outpace threats remain operationally flexible in contested environments. Without CP Mod the Army cannot execute the infrastructure layer to support the NGC2 architecture. The B29801 funding line is a strategic investment by the Army to procure tactical edge compute (TEC) and store hardware and integration efforts. Lessons learned at Project Convergence Capstone 5 (PCC5) have significantly increased the demand for On The Move (OTM) capability and distributed command and control nodes. Army recognizes a need to leverage technology enabling resilient and intuitive command posts. TEC provides the Army a distributable, common compute and store solution capable of hosting Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) applications in a modular, configurable hardware package. TEC delivery will move Army Command and Control capabilities away from costly and complex separate "stove-piped boxes" with individual applications, reducing training and sustainment costs associated with multiple unique HW installation requirements. The use of open standards will make it simpler and more cost-effective to upgrade capabilities and/or keep pace with commercial technology by eliminating complex integration challenges and proprietary interfaces. Integration will address up to 20 unique NGC2 enabling technologies across multiple vehicle platform type/variants within Army units. Predictive Logistics (PL) (B29815) supports the Army's Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) initiative to modernize the Command and Control (C2) systems, Infrastructure Layer. Predictive Logistics (PL) is a logistics optimization effort that will deliver hardware/software capabilities that improve unit readiness, support commanders' abilities to monitor, predict, and sustain combat power, and enhance existing maintenance and supply processes. Establishing automated data collection from self-reporting platform sensors, PL will process, store, and disseminate Logistics Status (LOGSTAT) data to the Common Operational Pictures (COP) at platform, command, and enterprise echelons via the Unified Network. This capability will also predict future logistics needs with a focus on Class III (petroleum, oil, lubricants) and Class V (ammunition/explosives) consumables and maintenance alerts, enhancing mission planning and execution.

FY2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $723.187 million supports the following efforts: B29801: The Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) is a top modernization priority for the U.S. Army, aimed at transforming how we communicate, coordinate, and operate across the battlefield. Command Post Modernization (CP Mod) plays a foundational role in this transformation by delivering the infrastructure that connects tactical communications, data systems, and applications into a cohesive ecosystem. CP Mod enables rapid integration of emerging technologies and modular upgrades-ensuring the Army can outpace threats remain operationally flexible in contested environments. Without CP Mod the Army cannot execute the infrastructure layer to support the NGC2 architecture. FY2026 base procurement dollars in the amount of $718.581 million procures the Army Tactical Edge Compute (TEC) hardware, conducts vehicle installation across multiple platform types/variants and includes fielding of NGC2 infrastructure for Army priority units. The NGC2 infrastructure enables the Army to leverage software applications across the tactical network at all echelons. The TEC provides a scalable compute and store solution independent of warfighting software applications. This funding enables command post modernization through modular, on-the-move tactical command post vehicles, and supports Army's intent to deliver a more mobile network and technologically enhanced capabilities to the operational force. Funds also include costs for logistics, and contractor and matrix personnel directly in support of the mission. Predictive Logistics (PL) (B29815): FY2026 base procurement dollars in the amount of $4.606 million will provide funding for platform engineering, integration, and assessments of Predictive Logistics hardware and software solutions. Funds have been consolidated in this line to support hardware and software procurement, integration and engineering for vehicle platform programs that have developed platform-specific LOGSTAT data collection solutions. Funds will also support program management support for PL.
