Description — CTG, 50MM, All Types
SSN E80013 / CARTRIDGE, 50 MILLIMETER APFSDS-T is a new start within the CTG, 50MM, All Types program in FY 2026 This line includes CARTRIDGE, 50MM, ALL TYPES (E80011) 50mm x 228 XM1202 Target Practice with Tracer (TP-T) cartridge is a developmental training cartridge designed to be a low-cost training cartridge with ballistic match to the developmental XM1204 High Explosive Airburst with Tracer (HEAB-T) cartridge. The XM1202 TP-T consists of an inert steel and aluminum projectile with glass reinforced Ultem rotating band, pyrotechnic tracer, double base or extruded propellant, an M36A2 percussion primer, and steel cartridge case. The XM1202 is planned to be packed 10 cartridges to a PA191 ammunition container. In FY19 a Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) Middle Tier Acquisition- Rapid Prototyping (MTA-RP) program to support the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle (MICV) program and transition to Milestone C in Quarter three FY 2024 and Low-Rate Initial Production in Quarter four FY2024. These items are Code B, not approved for service use. (E80013) 50mm x 228 XM1203 Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot with Tracer (APFSDS-T) cartridge is a developmental anti-materiel cartridge designed to defeat near peer pacing and future vehicle threats. The XM1203 APFSDS-T consists of an aluminum sabot set, depleted uranium penetrator, stainless steel fin, plastic obturator band, pyrotechnic tracer, double base propellant, an M36A2 percussion primer, and steel cartridge case. The XM1203 is planned to be packed 10 cartridges to a PA191 ammunition container. In FY19 a Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) Middle Tier Acquisition- Rapid Prototyping (MTA-RP) program to support the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle (MICV) program and transition to Milestone C in Quarter one FY2025 and Low-Rate Initial Production in Quarter two FY2025. Justification
Justification — CTG, 50MM, All Types
FY 2026 Base Budget supports critical Army Title 10 war reserve/operational, training, and test requirements in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 3000.04 (Munitions Requirements Process) and Army Regulation 5- 13 (Total Army Munitions Requirements Process and Prioritization System). War reserve requirements support Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-approved Combatant Commander Operational Plans, Homeland Defense, and other OSD- directed missions. Training requirements support individual and collective training of Active and Reserve Component forces at Army schools, home station, and the combined training centers. Test requirements support the development, fielding, safety, and quality assurance of Army munitions and equipment throughout their life cycle. In accordance with Section 1815 of the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110-181), this item is necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities. FY 2026 Total Base dollars in the amount of $42.131 million supports the procurement of 0.033 million cartridges. (E80011) XM1202 (TP-T) This is a training unique item not used in combat. FY 2026 request supports annual training and builds a depot level in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. FY 2026 Base Procurement dollars in the amount of $5.329 million supports the procurement of 0.002 million cartridges. Type Classification Date: Pending. (E80013) XM1203 (APFSDS-T) This is a war reserve item used in combat. FY 2026 request builds a war reserve inventory in accordance with Army's procurement goals. FY 2026 Base Procurement dollars in the amount of $36.802 million supports the procurement of 0.031 million cartridges. Type Classification Date: Pending.
