Description
Description — Small Arms
Small Arms encompasses small caliber, hand fired weapons (pistols and rifles) used to support air base ground defense, aircrew protection, Office of Special Investigations, security functions, and other activities requiring small, portable firearms. This line also procures various accessories needed to improve or maintain existing weapons. Overseas Operations Costs (OOC) funds this requirement in the amount of $5.091 million for FY 2026 Budget Estimate. Overseas Operations Costs (OOC) are those financed with former Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) funding. PEs associated with this P-1 line are 0207227F, 0207580F, 0408011F and 0804731Fk.
Justification
Justification — Small Arms
FY2026 Baseline funding in the amount of $21.169M procures M4 Carbines, M240B Machine Guns (7.26mm), M4A1 Carbines (5.56mm-Auto), and allows for annual replacement of condemned items. Major FY26 procurements include PEQ-15 Laser Designators, M68 Optics, M4s, and M2A1 Machine Guns. The FY 2026 request was reduced by $0.816 million for Advisory and Assistance Services to promote efficiencies and advance the policies of the Administration in alignment with Executive Order 14222, Implementing the President's Department of Government Efficiency Cost Efficiency Initiative.
