SSN E00100 / CTG 10 GAUGE BLANK is a new start within the Items Less Than $5 Million (AMMO) program in FY 2026 This budget line includes Miscellaneous Ammunition Items Under $5 million. (E00100) CTG 10 Gauge Blank is a is a training unique item used in ceremonies. E00100 is a new start within the Items Less Than $5 Million (AMMO) program in FY 2026. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E00300) CTG 12 Gauge Shotgun 7 1/2 CHILLED SHOT is a 12 gauge 2 3/4-inch round with #7 1/2 pellets (approximately 2.39mm (0.094") diameter and weighs about 1.25 grains each) and can be fired out of the M26, M1014, Mossberg Model 500/590, and Remington 870/MCS shotguns. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E01700) CTG, .22cal Ball Long Rifle Match, f/Rifle [A091] is used for military marksmanship training. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E03001) CTG, CAL .30 BLANK is used for salute ceremonies by Veteran Organizations in the M1 Garand rifles without being equipped with a firing adapter. It can be identified by the absence of a bullet and a rosette crimped casemouth. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E03710) CTG, .338cal Norma Magnum, AP, M1162 f/Rifle procurement supports the Mk22 Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR). It is composed of a standard brass cartridge case, propellant, percussion primer and armor piercing projectile. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E03715) CTG, .300cal Norma Magnum, M1163 f/Rifle procurement supports the Mk22 Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR). It is composed of a standard brass cartridge case, propellant, percussion primer and copper jacketed projectile. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E92100) CTG 12 GAUGE BREACHING ROUND, M1030 provides the capability to Soldiers to effectively and safely breach doors with the Mossberg 500/590 and Remington 870/MCS shotguns. The 12-gauge door-breaching cartridge is intended to destroy locks and fixtures on doors and automobiles with little or no collateral damage to the interior. This item is Code A, approved for service use. (E99101) SPECIAL TRAINING AMMO includes procurement of nonstandard and commercially-available specialty munitions and energetic materiel in support of United States Army troop training requirements defined by the Standards in Training Commission (STRAC) and set forth in Unit Programs of Instruction (POIs). Requirements and authorizations issued by HQDA G-3/5/7 TRA are in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 350-38 and are vetted through the Army Munitions Requirements Working Group and Council of Colonels. Unit requirements funded by this program include the US Army Military District of Washington, National Guard Bureau and Army Reserve, National and Joint Readiness Training Centers, and US Army Parachute Team as well as other specialized unit training requirements submitted for consideration during fiscal year execution. (E99222) Foreign Weapons Training Ammunition. Foreign weapons ammunition procures munitions that have not been Type Classified, Materiel Released or Fielded for standard use by United States Army or other DoD services. It is not stocked/procured in standard DoD supply system. Funds will be used to purchase foreign (Non-NATO) standard munitions, training devices and materials, conduct safety and quality assessments, and ship the munitions to their required destination. This funding also procures nonstandard ammunition training requirements identified by U.S. Army training units and centers and authorized by HQDA G-3/5/7 TRA IAW AR 350-38. (EA0600) Ammunition Program Support - The Ammunition Program Support effort enhances the management of ammunition and provides systems and services which the Army is required to provide as the Single Manager for Conventional Ammunition in accordance with DODI 5160.68. Funding is used to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ammunition management across the lifecycle through process improvements, generation of metrics and decision support analysis. (EA0960) USAMTU FT MOORE (United States Army Marksmanship Training Unit). This budget line funds procurement of nonstandard and commercially available specialty munitions and energetic materiel in support of US Army Marksmanship Unit training requirements defined by the Standards in Training Commission (STRAC) and set forth in Unit Programs of Instruction (POIs). Requirements and authorizations issued by Army G-3 are in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 350-38 and are vetted through the Army Munitions Requirements Working Group and Council of Colonels.
Justification
Justification — Items Less Than $5 Million (AMMO)
FY 2026 Base Budget supports critical Army Title 10 war reserve/operational, training, and test requirements in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 3000.04 (Munitions Requirements Process) and Army Regulation 5-13 (Total Army Munitions Requirements Process and Prioritization System). War reserve requirements support Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) approved Combatant Commander Operational Plans, Homeland Defense, and other OSD-directed missions. Training requirements support individual and collective training of Active and Reserve Component forces at Army schools, home station, and the combined training centers. Test requirements support the development, fielding, safety, and quality assurance of Army munitions and equipment throughout their life-cycle. In accordance with Section 1815 of the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110-181), these items are necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities. FY 2026 Total dollars in the amount of $16.799 million supports the procurement of 4.351 million cartridges. (E00100) / CTG 10 Gauge Blank is a training unique item not used in combat. FY 2026 request supports annual training and builds a depot level in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $0.800 million support the procurement of 0.159 million 10 Gauge Blank cartridges. E00100 is a new start in FY2026. Type Classification date: (E00300) CTG 12 Gauge Shotgun 7.5 Chilled Shot is a war reserve item used in combat. The FY 2026 request builds a war reserve inventory in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $0.006 million support the procurement of 0.007 million 12 Gauge Shotgun 7.5 Chilled cartridges. FY 2026 Base dollars in the amount of $0.001 million support the COCOM requirement for procurement of 0.002 million 12 Gauge Shotgun 7.5 Chilled cartridges to deter potential adversaries and support Operation Atlantic Resolve (OAR). This is an increase of $0.001 million from the FY 2025 Request. Type Classification date: November 1975. (E01700) CTG, .22cal Ball Long Rifle Match, f/Rifle is a training standard item and is used for military marksmanship training. There is no FY 2026 budget request for this funding line. Type Classification Guide: January 1990. (E03001) CTG, CAL .30 BLANK, M1909 is a training unique item not used in combat. The FY 2026 request supports annual training and builds a depot level in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $1.976 million supports the procurement of 2.347 million .30 Caliber Blank M1909 cartridges. Type classification date: 1917 (E03710) CTG, .338cal Norma Magnum, AP, M1162 f/Rifle is a training standard item used in both training and combat. The FY 2026 request supports annual training and builds a war reserve inventory in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. The FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $3.267 million supports the procurement of 0.289 million, M1162 f/Rifle cartridges. Type classification date: May 2024 (E03715) CTG, .300cal Norma Magnum, M1163 f/Rifle is a training standard item used in both training and combat. The FY 2026 request supports annual training and builds a war reserve inventory in accordance with the Army's procurement goals. The FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $3.976 million supports the procurement of 1.250 million, M1163 f/Rifle cartridges. Type classification date: May 2024 (E99101) Special Training Ammunition - FY 2026 funds procure nonstandard and commercially-available specialty munitions and energetic materiel in support of FY 2026 US Army troop training requirements in accordance with DA G3/7-TRA authorizations. FY 2026 base funds in the amount of $0.759 million procures U.S. Army troop training ammunition requirements defined by the Standards in Training Commission (STRAC) and set forth in unit Programs of Instruction (POIs). Requirements and authorizations issued by HQDA G-3/5/7 are in accordance with AR 350-38 and are vetted through the Army Munitions Requirements Working Group and Council of Colonels. Special Training Ammunition supports specialized unit training requirements that cannot be accomplished with standard issue U.S. Army ammunition stock. (E99222) Foreign Weapons Training Ammunition. FY 2026 funds will be used to procure Non-DOD Standard Ammunition (NSA), related Non-DOD Standard Weapons Systems (NSWS), as well as related training aids for Army units supporting the Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) mission. Army units will conduct preparation training with Non-standard weapons and munitions before deployment in order to be trained to support requirements, including operational missions, bilateral and multilateral military exercises and security cooperation activities. The FY 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $0.512 million supports the procurement of 0.297 million, Non-Standard Ammunition rounds. (EA0600) Ammunition Program Support - FY 2026 funds in the amount of $3.974 million provide critical support to efficiently and effectively manage ammunition across the portfolio. Funds support systems and services which are required to be provided by the Army as the Single Manager for Conventional Ammunition in accordance with DODI 5160.68. USAMTU funds support specialized unit training requirements that cannot be accomplished with standard issue U.S. Army ammunition stock. Such requirements are submitted to and authorized by HQDA G-3/5/7 on an annual basis in accordance with AR 350-38.
