Description
Description — Minesweeping System Replacement
Magnetic Silencing Facility Upgrades support hardware, auxiliary systems, and support in association with the upgrade of current aging or new installation of CONUS and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) Magnetic Silencing Facilities in order for the calibration of new Open-Loop Magnetic Systems or Advanced Degaussing System ships and submarines to be accomplished for worldwide operation. Upgrades obsolete high-power equipment to provide the necessary magnetic field for ensuring current and future navy ships and submarines meet requirements for Electromagnetic Signature Requirements and reduces susceptibility to Electro-Magnetic threat systems.

Justification — Minesweeping System Replacement
The FY 2026 request was reduced by $0.361 million for civilian personnel to optimize the workforce in compliance with Executive Order 14210, "Implementing the President's Department of Government Efficiency Workforce Optimization Initiative."
