Description
Mission — Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER)
The Marine Corps component of the Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) initiative aligns with this program element (PE). Established in the Defense Planning Guidance for Fiscal Years 2023-2027, this initiative aims to accelerate the modernization of the force by fostering a culture of multi-component experimentation. Through a campaign of learning, the RDER initiative enables participating organizations including services, agencies, and other stakeholders to identify top-tier capabilities derived from Department of Defense (DoD) prototyping programs. Approved projects are executed via large-scale, cross-service experiments designed to validate and refine the Joint Warfighting Concept (JWC). Organizations are encouraged to submit proposals that involve multi-component collaboration with Joint Services, International partners, and other government agencies. Proposals should target one or more of the four key supporting concepts of the Joint Warfighting Concept: Joint Concept for Fires, Joint Concept for Command and Control, Joint Concept for Contested Logistics, and Joint Concept for Information Advantage.
