Description — ENHANCED PORTABLE INDUCTIVE ARTILLERY FUZE SETTER
The Enhanced Portable Inductive Artillery Fuze Setter (EPIAFS) program supports the Army's Cannon Transformation Strategy and is a critical system required to enable setting with current and future Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs) and Fuzes, as well as 155mm weapon system platforms. The EPIAFS systems provide direct set capability to integrate with modernized ammunition, electronics/hardware to enable new data requirements and software updates that provide new initialization data sets to support legacy and future platforms, precision artillery projectiles and precision fuzes. Future PGMs and Fuzes will incorporate guidance technologies that will require more data for initialization in less time to support higher rates of fire providing overmatching capability.
Justification
Justification — ENHANCED PORTABLE INDUCTIVE ARTILLERY FUZE SETTER
Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Base procurement dollars in the amount of $10.456 million supports the procurement of 300 modernized Enhanced Portable Inductive Artillery Fuze Setter (EPIAFS) systems that include an improved Platform Integration Kit (iPIK-M) as well as the ability to complete Direct Set Interface required to set Precision Guidance Munitions (PGMs) and Fuzes with current and future 155mm weapon systems. Funding will also support nonrecurring engineering efforts to mitigate obsolescence, upgrade software and improve platform integration components. These critical efforts will reduce hardware obsolescence and system failures as well as enable flexibility and long-term viability in support of the Army's Cannon Transformation Strategy.
